Wasa... the bane of our existence! Where do I start this rant...

Weelll... it was a rainy morning. I had to get up at freakin 4.30am because YARA wanted me to come in and work on their Digital Signage Project again. Did I mention it was a rainy morning? I had so much trouble tearing myself from my bed. Maybe I should have just stayed in bed and said screwit!

Anyway.. I left home very reluctantly and started the long ass drive to Pt. Lisas. I took turnoff from the highway onto the Claxton Bay road (does it go by any other name? hell if I know! heh). So there I was.. chillin and driving slow in the rain. Water was crossing the road at various places. Dirty muddy water. Eventually I ended up behind a rubbish truck. I didn't really care.. I was already late for work and it was raining so I was just there chilling.. had the music on low and just followed the rubbish truck. Wasa had been doing work on the road and had totally destroyed the right lane. Unfortunately for me the flood water was covering this fact. Sooo.. eventually the rubbish truck stopped to pick up some gargabe. I started to overtake at my relaxed pace when all of a sudden I heard a loud bang and the car felt like the front dropped into a trench >_< ..  Up ahead a little way there was dry land so I pulled on the side to see if anything happened to the car. I walked to the back.. everything seemed ok.. I checked the side.. no damage to be seen.. Then I walked to the front.. My right front fog light was hanging out by the electrical wire. It kinda reminded me of a gouged out eye hanging out of the socket. Then I noticed a strange broken part of the front flare. I inspected the torn edge and was wondering where the other matching side of the damage was. I was seeing the smooth undamaged bumper underneath. Mind you all of this was taking place in light rain. I had my cap on but that isn't much help when your clothes are slowly absorbing the water falling on you. I popped the fog light back in (or so I thought) then finished the drive to Yara.

When I got to Yara there was still a little rain falling but nothing to talk about really. I got out and decided to examine the damage again. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. Something just wasn't right.. the bumper didn't look damaged but there was this damaged piece of fibreglass staring at me. I walked over to the left of the car and then it hit me! The entire piece of fibreglass from the right front of the flare had been torn off and lost in the flood water! DAMN YOU WASA!!!!!! >_< It was less than a foot of fibreglass but the fact that it was torn off... ripped away from my car.. it was just depressing! I hate Wasa! They're always destroying roads and leaving everything wide open to damage vehicles!

Anyway.. the fog light was loose again but I said screwit and went to work. In the evening I unplugged the fog light and taped the connector to prevent it from getting wet on my way home. I was demoralised by the damage to the flare so I went straight home. No gym.. no liming.. nada!

When I got home I unscrewed the flare and re-attached the fog light properly. The car doesn't look bad without the front flare. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. It's just maybe 6 inches high and stretches across the front of the bumper. It adds a "lip" to the front. It's always scraping wherever I go so maybe this is a blessing in disguise?

Anyway.. I'll probably look for a replacement and maybe a nicer design for the front. At the moment I've come to terms with everything. The damage is minor in the greater scheme of things. At least the bumper wasn't damaged and the rim wasn't dished (not that it can be easily dished.. what with my tractor tyres on the car.. lol).

So anyways... we'll see how it goes. That's it for my rant for today...  wait... let me say it one last time... DIE WASA DIE!!!!  DIEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!  >_<     >_<

What's up people? I've made a weak attempt at starting back with this blog thing but it hasn't taken off like we might have expected or wanted.. heh..

I guess I should try to give a quick summary of what I've been up to since my last real blog entries were made ...

I spent six months working at Atlantic LNG in Point Fortin last year (2005). I'm still working for Innovative Solutions Limited. I rented in San Fernando for most of the time I was working at Point Fortin (ISL paid for the apartment ;) ). It was an interesting time.. everyone at Atlantic LNG in Point Fortin knows me and appreciates my work  I used to go to the Atlantic gym at Clifton Courts before heading back to the apartment.

I finished my BSc in Computing and Information Systems (finally!). I'm thinking of doing my Masters in Computer Science at UWI next year.... maybe! I really should try to do those last three exams to upgrade from MCSA to MCSE also...

I bought a 2002 Corolla at the end of December (2005). It's a dark blue.. almost metallic. Came with flare kit, spoiler, blue flourescent Corolla logo scuff guards, 10 disc CD changer in the trunk...  a 1.6 VVTI engine..  No sunroof though. That would have made it perfect. The car still had the new car smell when I bought it. That's gone now though. I also put on some 205/70/40 Michelin tyres on the car (that means wide tyres.. lol). Pretty good stuff. The B12 Sentra went to my sister and they sold it... bleh!

Speaking of my sister.. she had a baby boy. His name is Ryan. Yes.. this means I am now "Uncle Dev"    I walked him to sleep today.. Yes I do hold the baby and walk around with him and stuff lol.. 

These days I'm doing a lot of work in Yara in Pt. Lisas. I spent the past two weeks there working on a Digital Signage implementation plan and part of their Internal Network Security Analysis. I'm also doing stuff at Ministry of Energy, NIDCO (National Infrastructure Development Company) and ocassionally Atlantic LNG in POS. So.. as you can guess.. I'm pretty busy! Hardly time to blog!

I'm also back at the gym trying to get back in shape. I'm using the Atlantic LNG private gym in POS now.. Princess Court building. I've lost 6 lbs in the past 6 weeks. I've been on medication for a good few months (the Colitis thing)... finally came off of the meds about two weeks ago so weight loss is gonna be alot easier now!

Let's see.. is there anything else to say? Love interests? None really.. There's some new girls in the Story of Scar's Life.. Shelly, Leila, Candi.. probably some others I'm not remembering right now. Maybe I'll have stories to post about them like the stories I used to have.. heh

I don't know if it's apparent by the "tone" of this post.. but I think I've changed alot in the past two years. Older.. perhaps a little wiser.. alot less hyper... (well maybe a *little* less hyper.. lol)

Welp! Had a blast at Fli's birthday party last night! In fact, I didn't get home until around 11:00am today!   I got there like 7:00pm last night. Limed with the guys. We had vodka and orange juice, vodka and pineapple juice, vodka and cranberry juice.. vodka and miscellaenous! *grin*

There was lots of music and food! *drool* Mini pizzas! Wantons! Roti, duck, lamb, chicken.. wow! I had me a ball! Eventually the lights went out and the dancing started. You know the story by now right? I never want to dance but Trevor's sister always makes me get down with my bad self.. ha! Abe was breaking it down! Real styles! (Abe = another of our friends). I just did my obligatory attempt at wining and singing then pretended to be passed out on a chair after ^_^

Close to the end of it all some of Fli's friends were singing chutney while others were beating "drum" and bottle and spoon.. good times! :)  I was beating "drum" too until someone threw away my drum!! *glares* The nerve of some people!

After all the people left it was pretty late.. like maybe 3:30AM or so. I walked with clothes just in case.. and a good thing too! Seeing as it was so late and predicting chaos on the roads with drunk drivers (Carnival Sunday nah) I decided to stay the night by Fli. Weeelll... of course we didn't go to sleep right away! Fli busted out the game cube and we played some mario football game which was pretty cool. Dena got Fli the game for his birthday.. ^_^  The game was pretty cool.. I was having a good time tackling all the players on the other team to clear the way for Fli to make goal shots. So anyway.. we played for a while but then effects of liquor and lack of sleep started to kick on so we decided to call it a night. I took over the couch and slept for probably two hours :)

Sleeping in a "new" place is always weird. I woke up at 6:30am because I kept hearing people and vehicles. Turns out that was all the neighbours. These people need to sleep late! What's their problem!

Anyways.. eventually I left Aranguez. The highway was an amazing sight! I was the only car heading east for a while. I eventually met up with some other cars after Valsayn. Usually I'm just stuck in traffic inching along on these roads.. hence the amazement at the road being so empty. Despite there being no cars on the road I passed a car wrapped around a traffic light pole and people lining up to see the destruction. Way to go bro! Is not life you playing with! Heh.. hope no one died.. o_O

Soo.. that's it for the Carnival this year. It's just sleep today and tomorrow now

Didn't do much today.. just washed the car.. oooh so shiny! ^_^ Rain better don't fall!

Yeps that's right! I've decided to once again unleash my mental turmoil upon all ye poor unsuspecting souls who happen to pass by :)

Sooo... it's another new year.. same old same old.. What's the big deal anyway?

My sister got married on New Year's Day.. Work work work and more work for me! My father and I moved gravel.. red sand.. setup plumbing .. tents.. a million other things! There was a live orchestra on Saturday night. The band Maya played music and brought in the new year by us ^_^

Sunday was the main event. As you would expect there were like a zillion people and chaos everywhere! The wedding went along smoothly and everyone had too much to eat :) All in all.. good times!

Welp... Maybe I'll do another post on the missing year sometime soon.. just in case anyone really cares!

PS. It's my birthday! Where's my presents? :)
